What hair dryer to buy for curly hair?

I've always had thick curly hair my whole life, and I've learned to manage it finally after 21 years. My hair stylist straightened it with a big round brush and a hair dryer with a flat end. I don't normally use a hair dryer, and I was wondering if it matters if it's a really expensive one, or a cheaper one. I'd love to have suggestions!

What hair dryer to buy for curly hair?

any dryer with a high heat setting(hot) and high wattage-1800 or more-would do. have you ever tried a flattening iron? the combination of them both would work well. the key to what your hair dresser did was the flat part on the end of the dryer. it made it easier to direct the flow of hot air to one spot....a straight stream of air. careful though, lots of heat will hurt hair.

What hair dryer to buy for curly hair?

a more expensive one with a diffuser nozzle... its kind of big with like things coming out of it

What hair dryer to buy for curly hair?

I have just a conair blow dryer. i have curly hair and it works just fine. Just make sure that if you buy one, it has a diffuser nossel that comes with it. this will help!

I would spend at least $50 if that would be possible.

The higher quality ones really make a huge difference.

They don't fry you're hair or make it frizzy.

I got a collapsible bonnet hair dryer for christmas, and i dont know what good this thing will do fo

i say this because im african american, and all i use is flat irons and sometimes curling irons, and the blow dryer with comb attatchment....my hair is chemically relaxed, too. i never like using hair rollers, so that is out of the question, and that is usually what this type of hair dryer is used for. i have heard that instead of blow drying my hair, i could wet wrap and use the hair dryer....im really confused, and i dont want to be rude and say hey, i can use this hair dryer, so i want to try something out. if the wet wrap is the only thing i can do, what do i need to use...setting/wrapping lotion? how much do i need to use? how long to set under the dryer? does this work better than the blow dryers with the attatched combs? thank you in advance :)

I have one of those dryers, Its just the same as when you go to the salon to get your hair done. As far as wrapping lotion I either use Motions Wrap Foam or Lattabody wrap lotion/ spray. It also works better on your hair than blow drying it, because once you blow dry you have to flat Iron, and putting a lot of heat on your hair is not healthy. O yea I usually sit under the dryer for about 45 mins or until it feels dry. Ps. Roller Wraps turn out better than Flat Wraps, because Roller Wraps have more body.

Chi hair dryer contains lead and smells like burnt hair?

I have purchased a pink chi hair dryer and the box said that it contained lead. Is that something that is not good to use if it contains lead? I seen on the other red and black ones they don't contain lead. Recently when I've been using my hair dryer it smells like burnt hair, anyone else have this problem? I was thinking about getting a hair straightener from Chi, but i'm not so sure now. I've looked into Solia brand, not sure if they are any good. I also seen that Chi only guarantees their products for 1 year, and someone said a lifetime, not sure which one? Thanks for your help!

Chi hair dryer contains lead and smells like burnt hair?

CHi Hairdryers are no better than any other hairdryer... however... their flat irons are one of the best on the market. The smell is because your hair is probably getting stuck in the back part of the dryer and then getting burned. I don't think it has anything to do with lead. Chi products other than the flat iron are not worth the price in my opinion =)

Don't shy away from their flat irons though... they are great!

Chi hair dryer contains lead and smells like burnt hair?

You shouldn't hold the hair dryer so close to your hair, then it won't burn!

Chi hair dryer contains lead and smells like burnt hair?

I just answered a question like this. Princess has a flat iron that is making her hair smell like it is burned. I don't know if her's is a Chi. I wouldn't think the lead could hurt you, you're not ingesting it.

Chi hair dryer contains lead and smells like burnt hair?

Good price for curling iron/hair dryer?

Hello all. Recently, as I've grown more bored with my hair, I've been styling it often. Don't get me wrong, I love my hair: naturally straight, shiny, soft, but thin. I just get tired of seeing it down everday. I've found that my hair curler and hair dryer are kinda...old? They're my mothers old stylers...from the eighties, I belive. Yeah..moving on...

The curling iron seems to be caked with what I'm guessing is old hair product to hold curls. I've tried cleaning it off, but it still doesn't work well at all. And I know is it's not just my hair causing the non-curling. I've seen my friends with their hair curlers, and they all curl my hair perfectly.

The hair dryer does do it's job..it dries. But for some styling I do, I'll need to cool down my hair rapidly, and my hair dryer doesn't actually cool down, even though it has a cool air button.

I need to know a good, REASONABLE price on a curler and dryer, so I don't overpay or underpay. Thank you.

I have very hard to curl hair.

I got the Conair Infiniti ceramic curling iron and I really like it compared to my old one. It has really high heat settings, and my stylist told me not to use the hottest, but I do anyway. Just use a good heat protectant. I paid $25 for my curling iron at Wal-mart. I use Paves Styling Mousse and like that and their shampoo which leaves the hair very shiny. For a spritz of shine, I use Tigi's Camera Ready *but very sparingly* otherwise hair will look oily.

WALL MART

Good price for curling iron/hair dryer?

A curling iron is a curling iron, is a curling iron. It should not be over about $20.

For a hair dryer, you will need the attachment to protect the hair so that may cost up to about 40-50 dollars.

I bought a really cheap curling iron in walgreens and saw a really cheap blow dryer in walmart I believe I can't remember..

definetly under $20!

Which hair-dryer should I buy?

I have recently gotten a haircut and my hair falls just below my chin. I need to blow dry my hair in order to get it to curl under my face and not flip out every direction. I've been using my roomates hair dryer, but school ends in a little more than a week, so I will need my own hair dryer. But I have NO idea what type (cermaic/ionic) to buy. So here is some info:

I have dark brown, THICK, striaght hair.

I hate frizz.

I've heard ionic blow dryers get rid of frizz, but I'm not very strong and I'm worried my arm will get tired holding one because I hear they are heavy.

I'd like it to be in the $50 or less range. On Amazon there are TONS like this, ceramic and ionic.

Please be as specific as possible, and give reasons for your recommendations thank you!

Which hair-dryer should I buy?

Any brand is ok. and ionic or not, still ok. but definitely get some type of styling product to protect your hair from heat damage, and maybe even use Thermasilk products to clean and condition your hair. They are specially formulated for hair that is heat styled! Good luck!

HAIR DRYER VS 5-year-old children?

Is using hair dryer regularly harmul for the hair?

My 5-year-old child is *very* prone to cold and asthmatic.

We always use a hair dryer to dry her hair after showers. It's not for any styling purpose or else.

Would the use of the dryer be harmful for her hair?

Any reference on the source of your info would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

HAIR DRYER VS 5-year-old children?

hair dryer makes hair dry %26amp; rough over a long period of time. a regular use is not good! :)
