I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i nee

I really dont want break the hair drayer or mess up the electricity. i have never used the hair dryer but i broke a transformer using it with an electric skillet. it smelled really bad. please help!

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

The transformer you have is probably rated 500 VA. Far too small to handle the hair dryer on its highest setting.

You will need a transformer with a 2:1 ratio that is rated for at least 1800 VA. The link below offers a 2000 VA transformer for US $50 plus shipping. If you check around on the internet you can probably find one for about $30.

The hair dryer is rated 1800 watts, and is nearly all resistive load. Therefore we can consider the load of the hair dryer to be 1800 VA.

If you look closely, I think you'll see that the hair dryer is rated at 1800 watts at 125 V ac. 1800 VA 姊?125 V = 14.4 amps. 125 V 姊?14.4 A = 8.7 ohms. Basically a 9 閳?resistor.

If you energize the 9 閳?"resistor" at 220 volts, the result will be 220 V 姊?9 閳?= 24 amps. 220 V x 24 A = 5280 VA. The hair dryer will be instantaneously destroyed.

Good luck!

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

you need no less than 2kva transformer, 220/110 volts

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

A new 220V hair drier would be a lot cheaper than the right transformer.

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

You will need a transformer that can supply at least 10 and preferably 15 amperes at 220 volts. (1800 watts divided by 220 volts = 8.2 amps plus a margin of safety). This will be quite heavy and much, much more expensive than a new 220 volt hair dryer. It is only worth getting such a transformer for really expensive or rare equipment. Get another hair dryer.

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

if it didn't blow a fuse or trip a circuit breaker, then something is wrong somewhere. if the transformer blew, (it's located on a pole outside, not inside a house or apartment), it would have ,made a heck of a noise as well as smell bad, and knocked out power to everything and everyone on that transformer. if all you got was a bad smell, the item you plugged in was bad, or the wiring inside the wall was. household electrical appliances, except for electric dryers, electric water heaters, electric furnaces, central air conditioners, and electric stoves all use 120 volt power supplies, such as from wall plugs, as do inside lights, lamps, televisions etc. if you ho0ok up a 120 volt hair dryer to a 220 volt supply, it will burn up in seconds, and could actually catch on fire.

you have a 220 volt supply inside the house at the breaker box, but unless a 220 volt article is hooked in, there will only be 120 volt breakers. to get 220 volt power for those items needing it, two equally rated breakers are hooked together. don't mess with anything inside the box, if you don't know what you are doing. call an electrician, or someone who knows what they are doing.

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

You need a transformer, 220VAC, 1800watt or higher. Why making it so difficult?

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

What you have is most likely rated at 500 watts. You need a transformer that will divide the voltage by 2, that is, 220 volts in, and 110 volts out, at the current needed to power the hair dryer. The transformer will have a 7.5 to 8 amp primary current rating, and a 15 or more amp rating for the secondary side from which you get the desired 110 volts. There are transformers called "auto-transformers" which should be less expensive, and tend to be fairly common. The primary and secondary share the same windings. The ground, or common lead is common to both voltages. You could also get a 28 volt DC power supply rated at 1800 watts. This has the same power as the desired 110 volts ac, but is a DC voltage. 2 car batteries connected in series with a rating of 100 amps for each battery would suffice, if you chose to use batteries as an alternative. Someone who is knowledgeable about electricity should be able to help you with connecting the batteries, and how to keep them charged.

I have a 1800 watt hair dryer that is suppose to be used with a 110v, what size transformer do i need for 220v

Usually transformers are sized in KVA or VA. For a hair dryer which is resistance heating VA = watts so you would need an 1800 VA transformer or larger. However, hairdryers are not used long so choose any transformer of 1.5KVA or 1,500VA or larger.

Probably the 500 is 500 VA so it would be too small unless you don't turn the hair dryer on high.

You can test the transformer by using it with the hair dryer. If the transformer starts to get too hot to the touch, it is not large enough. Otherwise, it should be fine.

What damage is caused by using hair dryer?

Hi,

I'm a guy and have started using hair dryer to dry hair recently, usually used to use towel.. I was wondering if someone could tell me the effects of it if I use it every day on my hair? As in negative health effects..

Also I've heard that whatever negative impact there is, it can be helped if using conditioner everyday? Please advise if true, and when conditioner should be used and for what.

Thanks.

What damage is caused by using hair dryer?

no damage, thats a myth.

What damage is caused by using hair dryer?

it overdries your hair and leaves you with a split on every end. definitley NOT good for your hair. but if you must, then put it on a high speed and a low heat, remember to hold it a distance from your hair.

What damage is caused by using hair dryer?

Some people say it dries out your hair, but I don't think so. But just to make sure use a conditioner on your ends to help prevent the dryness - a simple bottle like pantene, suave, or head %26amp; shoulders works.

What damage is caused by using hair dryer?

It causes hair breakage because if the heat.

Can I carrie on a hair dryer/hair straighter on an airplane?

I wanted to know what all I can not carrie on an airplane.

i.e.

movies?

hair dryer/straightner?

Glass cups?

Plastic cups?

Candy?

Can can i carrie on an Easter basket??

Can I carrie on a hair dryer/hair straighter on an airplane?

Yes to all of the above.

TSA may have to open your carry on bag when they see the hair dryer and straightener go through, just because of all of the wires. It is not a problem I do it all the time.

Glass and plastic cups no problem. Just make sure the glass is wrapped in something that will protect it from breaking.

Candy is fine also. You just are not allowed to have any liquids more than 3.4 oz. in your carry on luggage.

Happy Travels!

Can I carrie on a hair dryer/hair straighter on an airplane?

Why you are so worried. Each and every item which you can carry is mentioned on your Air ticket.

Can I carrie on a hair dryer/hair straighter on an airplane?

yes

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

hi i actually want to know can i usa hair dryer for 3-4 years kids is it safer or not ....

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

safer than what? a convection oven? yes.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

You need to put ear plugs in since the hair dryer can cause a hearing loss. Also make sure it's not too hot. I wouldn't let the child do it themselves though.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

Consult with your beautician or hair stylist.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

Well, if you put the heat on low, and the air speed on low, it should be okay.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

sure, just make sure it doesn't get too hot.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

YES IT IS ON A RECENT STUDY, THE HEAT WAVES CAN CAUSE CANCER ON EVEN GROWN UPS SO DO NOT USE IT ON A CHILD!

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

I wouldn't let my 3 year old run it herself, but I have used a hair dryer to dry her hair before going out on a cold day.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

Sure why not, we've used it on my 4 year old girl, we just keep the temperature setting on low and keep it held back and give her a break from the heat sometimes.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

Yes it's safe as long as you keep the dryer at least 6 to 10 inches away from the childs head. You don't want to burn their scalp and make sure you don't use it near water. Be Careful.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

as long as you put the heat setting on low.

because it's not your head, and children have more delicate skin, hairdryers can burn them pretty easily. Make sure your hand is under the dryer too so you can sense the heat just as much as your child. Keep the dryer moving all around (waving it back and forth) very often and try to keep it AT LEAST 10 INCHES away from the head.

BE CAREFUL

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

i would not because it might be danger ios .wait tell they get more hair.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

don't put it on high or hot (depending on the settings) keep it on low or warm. don't put on cold air though.

don't hold it to close to their heads. if they feel hot or it hurts then pull it back a few inches.

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

Hi there

The answer to your question is yes it is perfectly safe to use a hair dryer on kids at that age .i have 2 kids one of each they r

now 4 years %26amp; 5 years old %26amp; i started using one for my daughter

when she was 1 %26amp; 2 years old %26amp; like i said she is 5 years old %26amp; am still using it on her.now for my son i don't need to use on for his hair cuz it dries really fast like mine..

so.....hope that it answers your question

Is Hair dryer safer to use for kids ?

No, don't do it! A child's hair is still considered to be like a baby's at that age. Give it about 3 more years...their hair will withstand it then. Seriously, doesn't blow drying your own hair dry it out; think about what it would do to a child's hair.

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

I have kind of short curly hair and am looking for someway to keep it under control during the summer / humid weather. It's cut in layers and flat irons just kind of make it stick out in weird directions. Would this new dryer possibly work?

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

All you really need is a hair dryer with a comb. a lot of hair dryers come with combs, that attach to it, as you comb and dry, your hair straightens. My hair is curly too, and the dryer i use works. just attach the comb and you will be able to comb and dry all at the same time, without worrying about having curls in when you are done.

Please dont spend your money on a "new" hair dryer that straightens your hair. i will be a waste, just get a dryer that comes with the attachable comb. Never fails

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

I have no idea but I hope someone will reply and let you know!! If they work I am going to get one for myself!!!

Good luck!!

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

um...they had that for so long now....

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

I have wavey hair and the person that said don't waste money is right, in summer no matter what i do or use, boom waves in 3 secs. flat, well actually not flat, dryer with good comb attachment is best bet.

Has anyone used the new hair dryer that straightens your hair as you dry it?

yes i think so is it conair?? well dont waste your money u can have mines for free-- i spent lots of money on it and it just pulls your hair out and damages it!

Is anything wrong with my hair dryer?

There is always a lint like substance on the back by the vent....if i don't clean it out, then my dryer stops working. How can I prevent the build-up or is it just something hair dryers do?? Where does the "lint" come from?

Is anything wrong with my hair dryer?

From air. The lint is skin particles and just everyday solids that exist in the air we breathe. Plus you're using it on your hair while it's being styled and moved around, kicking up even more skin cells and such from your head.

Think about it, the end of the hairdryer is a powerful vacuum, sucking in air powerfully to blow out the other end. The solid matter it sucks in is going end up on the vent.

Your dryer might have an auto-shutoff to prevent overheating. If you don't clean the buildup regularly, a dryer can overheat.

Not much you can do about it, just keep it clean.

Is anything wrong with my hair dryer?

it comes from the air being pulled in to make hot air, you just have to clean it.

Is anything wrong with my hair dryer?

It's just the dust and dirt that accumulates on your hair dryer, it's all very normal. You should clean it after you've blow dried your hair and it has cooled down. Just swipe it with a damp paper towel. The reason it shuts off, is because the blockage over heats the little motor inside, so it cuts off your blow dryer so it doesn't break on you. If you just keep it clean you shouldn't have any more problems.

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

Someone told me thta a 1400watt pro dryer is the same as a 200watt high street dryer, does anyone know if this is true? And can anyone reccommend any decent hair dryers?

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

You can get Parlux hairdryers. These are professional hairdryers and come in wattrage up to 1700.One other thing, bear in mind that the model number is very often nothing to do with the wattage! It is very confusing. Ignore the model number and look on the box for the wattage, dont be misled. The Parlux 3000 is in fact 1540-1760 Watts, more than enough. Much more and you will risk burning hair. They come in diff colour and compact sizes .

http://www.prohaircare.co.uk/shop/parlux...

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

i would say get an ionic one.

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

Go to a reliable shop and you get the right one

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

i love my revlon!

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

i agree wth the sarah girl umm ionic seems to be the way to go less damage to uer hair.. as for street dryers... u mean handones? like in the bathrooms? i think that varies and even if the wattage is the same u can still vary temp wth a hair dryer and they ussualy come wth other tools. try jibere paris or better yet a trade secrets store near u bec even if u dont buy there bec its a bit more on the expensive side, i still feel they know what they are talking about when u ask them about things like a good hair dryer or a good buy, qaulity, value bec they cut hair too in those stores.. basically what im saying is ask them about the best type and what features u want in one and even if u dont buy it there at least when u go to another store u'll know what to look for.. goodluck.

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

ask someone who cuts hair

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

go to your salon warehouse and get a dryer called parlux they are the best hairdryers around used by professionals they are pricey but will last you the best of ten years

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

the 1400watt one has 1200 watts more than the 200watt one...

probably go for the pro one

Does anyone have that new conair infiniti hair designer tourmaline Ionic dryer?

I was wondering if this dryer really straightens the hair while it dries it at the same time. Trying to give my flat iron a rest and I hate using a brush and a hair dryer at the same time. This dryer is new I guess and is selling for $59.99. It's reddish/purple in color with some special attachment that grabs and pulls the hair straight while drying. Please let me know if this works! I want to buy one.

Does anyone have that new conair infiniti hair designer tourmaline Ionic dryer?

no I don't have that one, but I have the "maxi glide" and it's wonderfull, your hair dosen't need to be completely dry. Cuz it uses steem, I luv it you can flip with it curl your hair. since it uses steem it dose not damage your hair as much.

Is the Conair infinity hair dryer any good?

I have just recieved this hair dryer as a Christmas present and havent had a chance to use it. Does it really work? And if so, can it straighten your hair while you dry it?

Is the Conair infinity hair dryer any good?

i guess its a popular christmas present cause i got it too! 閳?its amazing! ooo la la!

Is the Conair infinity hair dryer any good?

It works.Yes it does work as both, but try not to use it to much.Your hair can get dried out.

Is the Conair infinity hair dryer any good?

Yes yes yes! I just got one for Christmas too. And I 閳?it.

Diffuser on an hair dryer?

I have fine textured hair and if I use a blow dryer, my hair ends up looking fried damaged and verrrryy frizzy...if I buy a diffuser and use it will it really help? I heard it would...I usually have to let my hair air dry and so it takes so much longer to get ready...so will this help me??

Diffuser on an hair dryer?

I have really frizzy hair too and I tried using a diffuser ((after applying mousse)) and it did work...but I don't like to use it because I have naturally curly hair and the diffuser really brings them out..

I suggest using a shine balm like BioSilk to weigh down the frizz. I prefer BedHeads Headrush. Its a spray that basically does the same thing. Don't use too much or you're hair will look greasy though.

Have you tried a straight iron? I use one after blow drying to iron out the frizz and use a top notch deep conditioner such as Silk Elements MegaSilk Moisturizing Treatment. You can view it here at http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1215/373...

Good luck.

Speaking from experience here, I choose the deep conditioning with the straight iron. Its been the best to my frizzy mess.

Diffuser on an hair dryer?

do it. I bet you won't

Diffuser on an hair dryer?

A diffuser might help. Make sure you have a good hair dryer that is not causing extra static in your hair. Also make sure to use a round brush while drying. Brush and dry at the same time, from root to end to prevent frizzies. Also try an anti frizz serum.

Would having a good quality hair dryer make my hair look better?

I use great products in my hair but can't seem to get it too look like I just came from the salon. I was wondering if getting a really good quality hair dryer would help. The one I have was really cheap, $8 I think.

Would having a good quality hair dryer make my hair look better?

Yes, having a great hair dryer makes a heck of a difference. Never settle for the cheapest product, but those made with good heat-control settings, and other good features. Check out this article for some good choices:

http://www.consumersearch.com/www/family...

Having a good hair dryer can be the difference between having frizzy hair or silky hair. It can also help whether or not your hair dries out easily or retains some of its natural moisture.

Would having a good quality hair dryer make my hair look better?

The dryer and the type of brush your using all matter's in making your hair look like you just came out the salon. The soft bristles and around brush works the best with blow drying.

Would having a good quality hair dryer make my hair look better?

In some cases I think it can make a difference. Even if you have a cheap hair dryer, sometimes the attachments that it somes with can make a difference on how your hair turns out, try using them if yours came with it.

Would having a good quality hair dryer make my hair look better?

of course it would but you gotta learn how too use it too

Is using a hair dryer to relieve itching good or bad for you?

Several weeks ago, I had a case of shingles and took the antivirals, prednisone, amitryptyline, vicodin, and codein (phew!) It's been over a month now since I've had shingles, but I still have this annoying itching/tingling sensation in one area where I had the rash (I still have a lot of redness there from where the rash was.) I've tried benadryl spray; calamine lotion, and steroid creams but the only thing that gives me temporary relief is using a hair dryer and blowing hot air on the skin until it begins to hurt. It's like scratching a very deep itch and feels really good while i'm doing it. The only problem though is after I do it, the relief only lasts for a short while and then I feel the urge to do it more frequently. I wonder if this is delaying the healing of the scar tissue thus prolonging the itching/tingling? Any insight/advice would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Is using a hair dryer to relieve itching good or bad for you?

Sounds like the shingles have not completely cleared up. If it has been over a month and the reddness has not gone down i would go see you doctor. its quite possible the antiviral didnt work, they probably had you on valtrex for the shingles which usually clear them up. I would speak to the your doctor and see if another round of meds would help. no sense in being that miserable with it.

Is using a hair dryer to relieve itching good or bad for you?

Shingles can take a very long time to heal...as for using a hair dryer well i wouldnt recommend it as it produces heat which will make you feel even more itchy..perhaps some phenergan might help--hope you get better soon

How bad is a hair dryer?

i have super dry and unmanageable hair and yes i use moisturising conditioner..still straight irons just make it worse..does simple air drying(not blow drying) with the hair dryer damage it as well?thats if i do it regularly, say 3-4 times a week

How bad is a hair dryer?

If your hair is super dry you need to get rid of your hairdryer %26amp; straightener for a while. See a hairdresser - if your hair is too damaged you may need to lop some off and start again. I assume the ends are worse than the roots? Thats because the ends of your hair have been blasted more than the newer growth.

Hair straighteners are not good for your hair at all, some may be less stressful to your hair than others but on hair that is already super dry any sort of heat will only make it worse.

I suggest letting your hair dry naturally whenver possible... use styling products such as leave in conditioners and anti-frizz serems to keep the frizz at bay, try to steer clear of gels and hairsprays, and use a deep conditioning treatment once a week. Also , have regular trims to avoid split ends.

How bad is a hair dryer?

Hair dryers can damage your hair if not used properly. I don't think overusing any hair product can be beneficial. You need to find hair products specifically designed for your type of hair. It'll take time, but you can get your hair back to where you want it to be.

How bad is a hair dryer?

well no matter howyou dry your hair anythig damages it even washing it .. harsh chemicals.. and hair products also .. definatly hot irons damages it also.. and especialy a hair dryer.. so.. just limit your drying and brushing.. that also damages hair.. Good luck!

How bad is a hair dryer?

A hair dryer dries, so that is what happens to your hair.

How bad is a hair dryer?

Air drying your hair is probably pretty good..Gives you a break form your hair dryer. Especially with the nicer weather coming

after I wash and comb out my hair I just let it air dry then use my curling iron etc.

How bad is a hair dryer?

oh noh! you have dry hair already? don't blow dry it! it will cause brittleness of your hair. adding more heat to your dry hair will add to the chance of having un-soft hair. just let it air dry. continue with the moisturizer.

What is the best compact hair dryer for fine hair?

I recently purchased a compact hair dryer called "all that". The size was perfect, but it was too powerful and blew my hair to smithereens!

What is the best compact hair dryer for fine hair?

try using the dryer rarely

Didn't it have a low setting? I have fine hair and the low setting works fine. Uh, no pun intended.

Ode to a hair dryer...?

My 7 year-old Revlon 1875 hair dryer just died today. It was killed by my teenager who did not press the reset button and knocked the power out in the back third of the house. What appliance of yours died recently?

My blender died the other day. My first appliance. I bought it for my first apartment in 2000.

My favorite lamp died 2 days ago. It was a "touch" lamp, ideal for bedside sleeping. I've had it for at least 10 years, and it was cheap but cute. RIP, dear lamp.

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

I have a LOT of hair. Its fine textured for the most part, there are just several of them. It usually takes forever to dry my hair with my current hair dryer. I want something that is quick. Also, my flat iron is not very good. I want to buy a new one but I don't know how to choose a good one. Also, I don't want to spend TOO much money. Can anyone help?

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

The Chi. I have naturally (very) curly hair that's down to my waist and it takes me an hour and a half to straighten it with my blow drier and round brush, plus I have to add all kinds of products to my hair.

My mom bought the Chi a few years ago for $135 at a salon, and it straightens my hair (STICK STRAIGHT!) in half an hour. I also do it without using anything, other than a shine serum after, to smoothen any fly-aways I have. The only down-fall is that you have to make sure your hair is completely dry before using it, so if you're in a hurry after a shower... you're S.O.L. hahaha! I usually air dry my hair, then blow dry the middle a lil bit to get the dampness out before straightening it.

It takes very little time to heat up, and you can use it to not just straighten, but you can curl the ends after you straighten your hair, or make big round curls with it. Just have to get the hang of it and learn to position it right to curl your hair.

I love mine and I wouldn't and haven't used anything other than the Chi.

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

well i can only help you with the flat iron because if i used a blow dryer i would look like a french poodle on crack. the best flat iron is the Revlon Ceramic. it is about two inches, most are half that; it has a great range of heat settings numbered 1-25, plus the ceramic plates don't pull your hair out. i have naturally thick curly hair and it makes my hair so soft and smooth and straight in no time flat. good luck hope this helped.

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

First of all, i can save you all of you money for the hair dryer! I have very thick hair as well and it used to take forever untill i read a magizene... i think it was Seventeen magizene in the hair tips section. It said instead of spending all your money on a new hair dryer, just make yours better! Clip layers of your hair back with a big clip and blowdry the bottom section of your hair from underneath with the brush on top of the hair thats being blowdryed. then repeat untill every section of your hair is completely dry. it wont take more than 15-20 minutes i promise!

also a hair straightner i recomend and i also use is Chi. Any kind is awsome!

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

any professional dryer will work. And as far as a flat iron, go ceramic--they work the best

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

hello, the chi works really good but its expensive ..if your looking not to spend alot of money and get the same result use the corioliss! very good .i just bought one off ebay for$ 50 and thats with shipping!!! chi's go for $100+ corioliss is great you don't have to use any products like hair straightening products that just make your hair greasy.I love my corioliss! i really recommend it .. my friend who has really curly hair that frizzes easily =no more frizz with corioliss NO LIE! and you'd think it'll take a long time w/ the 1'plates but no..gets the job done fast..don't need a hair dryer if you have this.

Can someone recommend a good hair dryer/flat iron?

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

I never used a hair dryer except in the parlour. But now I am thinking of buying one. I have heard that using a gryer regularly makes your hair brittle, dull and damaged. Is it true?

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

Technically speaking, damaged hair means those hair cuticles that have been cracked, chipped, roughened or worn off. Typically damaged hair is rough to the touch, dry and brittle. It is easily susceptible to breakage. Some of the most common external reasons for hair damage include:

# Frequently bleaching, dyeing, perming, straightening the hair

# Washing the hair too frequently

# Vigorously rubbing the hair

# Using dryers and other styling equipments too frequently

# Use of wrong/unsuitable products/methods to style the hair

# Harsh rays of the sun

# Chemicals and pollutants in water

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

prolonged and frequent exposure to heat may cause some damage to your hair. i start out with a hair dryer, then when it's halfway done (hair is still damp) i finish drying using an electric fan. but often, i just stick with the fan, i've never had dryness problem using that.

hope that helps!

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

with frequent use..yes... u will need to stock up on serum.. leave comditioners..

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

its better to use it on a cool setting because the heat can cause the damage.

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

Yes, it does.

Just stick to air drying. :]

Is the use of a hair dryer harmful for hair in any way?

It wont harm your hair if you dont use the hairdryer to close to scalp and always apply conditioner after shampoo. Mousse can be applied to protect hair while you style it.Deep conditioning treatment at least once a month-keeps hair shiny. Have a trim every 4-5 weeks to keep the ends tidy.

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

I'm trying to decide whether to get a hair dryer with 1600 watts or 2000 watts....which should i get? Please post websites if you have them!!! Or Tell me what you use!!

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

The most wattage you will need is 1800-1875. You don't need anything stronger than that because you may be putting too much heat on your hair.

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

Im sorry to be rude. But duh. The more voltage the stronger the dryer.......hence the better the dryer.

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

If your hair is really thick and it takes a long time to dry, then yeah. Otherwise I really don't see why it would matter.

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

i don't no

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

ya definately

Is a 2000 watt hair dryer better than a 1400 watt dryer???

2000 watts gives more heat and the electrical consumption is higher (+++$$$$) compared to the 1,4000 watts. I think professional dryers are in the range of 1,800 watts.

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

Help! I just took a shower and my hair is wet, but I can't find my hair dryer and I need to leave in an hour! I would just go outside with my hair wet, but it's 30 degrees outside. Is there anyway to dry my hair quickly without a blow dryer? I have a hair curler and straightener, but I'm pretty sure your not supposed to straighten/curl your hair while it's wet.

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

try this, like you are doing exercise bend over and then stand up again, meanwhile brush you hair once in a while if you do it like 50 times, you hair will dry and you did a good exercise too.

but for sunny days you can use power of the sun, brush your hair under the sun and brush it until it gets smooth and dry. have fun

Wrap it in a warm towl straight from the dryer! Leave the towel on for about 10 minutes then get a new warm dry towl and leave that on for 10 minutes. That should help!

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

There's a towel called Turban Towel which dries hair very fast. The woman who invented it has made a small fortune! It can be bought at Beauty Supply stores. Also try this link for a super-absorbent towel. http://www.bathandunwind.com/categories/...

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

a fan? works for me.

it's 30 degrees?!?!?!? it's 80 degrees here!

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

Use your towel. Wrap your hair up in your towel (a dry one) after you squeeze the excess water out first. Let the towel stay there as long as possible and get ready in the meantime. Do your makeup, get dressed and about 10-15 before you leave take your hair down and put it in a pony tail, braid, or loose bun.

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

What I always do after showering is to bow down my head, and with my towel, I clasp my hair in between the towel, and just rub out the excess of water. I don't just squeeze out the water, but I rub my hair, with my hands, and towel and the excess water clings to the towel. I do that for about 1-2 minutes, and then I just let it dry out by itself. It always works for me, but you have to rub well, and not loosely.

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

Shake, towel dry, brush.

How do I quickly dry my wet hair without a blow dryer?

How to straightner my hair without using a hair straithner or blow dryer is there anyway?

try super skinny products by paul mitchell (at least try the serum, if not the other products as well)

putting it in your hair while it is slightly wet will tame alot of your hair.

I wouldnt "brush it soooo much" like others have suggested, if your hair is already damaged brushing it too much will continue to damage your hair. But you should brush it, brushing your hair bring natural oils from the top of our head down through your hair tips.

Also, for like $3-$5 at target you can buy a "straightening brush" (it's just two flat hair brushes on a handle with holes to let air through) blow dry your hair on cool while slowly pulling this brush through your hair (much like how you would straighten it normally) it will probably take a long time, but with shorter hair maybe it won't take too long as compared to when you used to seperately blowdry it and the straighten it.

How to straightner my hair without using a hair straithner or blow dryer is there anyway?

i would just say to brush it a lot. i dont straighten my hair that much. when i do the best way to keep it healthy is to bursh it. brushing it doesnt damage it. when i straighten my hair i do it for 2 weeks at a time, and i do it like everyday. to keep it healthy i brush it sooooo much.

How to straightner my hair without using a hair straithner or blow dryer is there anyway?

i'm afraid not. i'm a hair dresser and i have clients ask me that all the time. i think your blessed with curly hair. find a style that complements your hair. your beautiful just the way you are. love your self.

How to straightner my hair without using a hair straithner or blow dryer is there anyway?

There is this liquid that I used before, where you rub it in your hair, and it straightens out.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

It seems to me that since the power cord on the hair dryer is insulated, the only conductors exposed to water are two closely spaced conductors inside the dryer. Since these are within inches of each other, wouldn't the fields be concentrated like a dipole field in the few inches surrounding the exposed sections, and fall off as a high order function of distance? Thus, it seems like people sitting several feet away in the tub would experience very little potential. I'm curious, but I'm not ready to try it just yet.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

Not everyone... just the people in the jacuzzi.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

Let's experiment...I'll stay out of the jacuzzi though Report It

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

yes it could. as electricity will spread in water

So, better don't try to do that.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

sounds dangerous anyway. But in most houses you would only blow a fuse or trip a breaker before causing death. Still sounds crazy though.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

i dont think so.maybe just the person holding it.

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

There have been experiements done and yes as water is a conductor for electricity, anyone sitting in the bath would get a shock big enoough to stop their heart EVEN before the trip switch was activated. Dont try it

Would a plugged-in hair dryer in the jacuzzi really kill everyone?

Don't do it, man. Because if it doesn't work, those people will never like you again, and you will probably have to kill them individually.

Seriously, a guy recently tried to kill his wife like that and it just tripped a breaker. His master plan ended up with his wife alive in the house and him alive in jail.

But if you really want to do it, use a really old appliance. Doesn't matter what kind. Pick one you won't want to tuse again.

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used for an average of 10 minutes per day at 9 cents Your utility company charges 9 cents per kilowatt-hour of energy. How much does it cost to run the hair dryer each day? each Year?

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

1800 watts = 1.8 Kilowatts

10 minutes = 1/6 hour

9 垄 = $0.09

1 year = 365 days

1.8 Kw X 1/6 h X $0.09 = $0.027/day (2.7垄/day)

$0.027/d X 365 d =$9.855/year

(sounds cheap to me, the others are trying you rip you off, they work for the power company.)

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

$2.16 dollars a day.$788.40 dollars a year

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

so, 1800 w=1.8kw

10minutes - 1.8kw

60minutes(1hour) - 1.8kw / 10 x 60

=10.8kw/h

therefore1 year=365 days

10.8kw/h X 365days=3942kw(total use of energy)

cost=3942kw/h X $0.09

=$354.78

the cost is $354.78 per year .

hope that will help u :)

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

$0.09 per kilowatt-hour

60 minutes=1 hour

since she used 10 minutes a day, then she used 1 hour in 60 days.

60 days=$0.09

There are 365 days in a year

365days/60 days=6.083 (with 3 repeated)

6.083*$0.09=$54.747=$54.75 per year.

For a day...

$0.09/10=$0.009=$0.01

She spends about 1 cent a day and about 54 dollars and 75 cents a year. If leap year its 54 dollars and 90 cents. =)

Mark as best answer please and thank you. =]

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

9 min/day x 365 days/year = minutes per year

minutes per year / minutes per hour (60) = hours per year

1800 watts / 1000 = kilowatts (1.8)

1.8 x hours per year = kilowatt hours per year

You should be able to figure it out from here

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

10 minutes is 1/6 of an hour....so each day you use 1800 Watts divided by 1/6 or 300/1000 or 3/10 kilowatt - hour. If you're charged 9 cents per kilowatt hour, your daily cost would be 2.7 cents. 2.7 cents times 365 = $9.85 a year.

And another method:

1800 watts for an hour would be 1.8 kilowatt hours. Every six days you would use 1.8 kilowatt hours. In a year, you use 60.83 times 1.8 or 109.4 kilowatt hours. At 9 cents per, that is $9.85 a year.

Either way, that's a pretty good bargain, don't you think?

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

1800 watts = 1.8 kw

1.8 * (10/60) = 1.8 * (1/6) = .3

.3 * 9 = 2.7 cents or $.027 a day

.027 * 365 = $9.855

ANS :

about $0.03 a day

about $9.86 a year

You have an 1800 watt hair dryer used 10 minutes a day at 9 cents per kilowatt hour of energy. cost per year?

1800 watt = 1.800 kilowatt

10 min per day = 10/60 hr per day = 1/6 h per day

1.800 kilowatt x 1/6 hr per day = .300 kilowatt-hr per day

--- --- --- --- ---

9 cents/kilowatt-hr x .300 kilowatt-hr per day = 2.7 cents per day

2.7 cents per day x 365 days each year = 985.5 cents each year = 985.5/100 dollars each year = $9.85 each year

hi

i am buying a hair dryer from japan its 1200W/600W which says (AC100V 50/60Hz)

so just wondering will i need a voltage convertor to use it in ireland or just a simple adapter will do the job .

Buying a hair dryer in japan will it work here in europe?

Since the hair dryer is a 100 VAC device and Europe has 230 VAC power you will need a voltage converter to reduce the voltage or you will burn out the dryer.

Can I use my US hair dryer in India?

Hi,

I am going to India over the winters. I not sure if the hotels in India will have hair dryers in the bathroom so want to take my hair dryer. But my concern is if I will be able to use electrical appliance from US in India becuase of difference in the voltage.

Can I use my US hair dryer in India?

It's most likely safe to take your US hairdryer to India. Be sure to bring a voltage converter, though, and a socket adapter, because the plugs are different in the two countries. Check with the hairdryer's manufacturer to be safe, though.

Can I use my US hair dryer in India?

prolly not.

Can I use my US hair dryer in India?

u should buy a new hairdryer in India

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

i heard that this button helps set %26amp; lock your hair in place. Is it true? and how to use this button? do we just use it from the beginning of drying hair or after finishing styling?

please help me about this mysterious feature of a hair dryer (lol)!

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

Ok, Have you ever used hot rollers?(there's a point to this i promise) You heat up the rollers and place them in your hair(by doing this you are changing the shape of your hair) but you must let them cool (to set the hair in place) or they will fall right out. Same goes for blow drying. By heating your hair you are drying, yes, but you are also able to change the shape of your hair in whatever direction you point the air. Example-If you dry your hair in the opposite direction your hair normally falls, you are lifting the root which gives volume. And just as you would let the hot rollers cool down, so must you finish drying(Start the cool when you are about 90% dry) with your cool setting to set(or lock in )the volume. Try different things, I'm sure you will find whats right for you.

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

the button is no miracle worker that 's for sure. But I use mine to go over my hair when I am finished - something about colling it down, helps the ends so they don't look as dry. Depending on your hair texture maybe it will help set it. I also hear you should rinse with cold water after your shower to keep your hair healthier too.

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

I usually use it after. It doesn't really work though [locking in hairstyle?].

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

you push it and it shoots out cold air

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

it helps set your hair and make it shinier. after ur done drying ur hair hold down the cool button and dry it w/ that!

Cool shoot button in hair dryer..what and how to use it?

It can help lock in the style and give more shine. What I do is use my dryer on the hot setting to actually curl or straighten the hair then hold the dryer POINTING DOWN THE HAIR SHAFT with the cool shot button. I have found that it really does add shine and when I straighten my curly hair it tends to look more naturally straight when I do that.

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current..

A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current. What power is produced by the hair dryer?

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

P=IV

=12.5*120

=1500W

=1.5KW

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

I think the equation for Power is Current x Voltage

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

The power is 1500W (watt)

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

P=vxi watts

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

Electrical power is measured in watts. In an electrical system power (P) is equal to the voltage multiplied by the current.

P = VI = 120V * 12.5A = 1500W

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

12.5 x 120 = 1500 watts

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

The apparent power is measured as Voltage * Amperage: 12.5 * 120 = 1500. However, in order to get the true power (Watts) you would need to multiply by the cosine of the phase shift, for a 50 degree phase shift this would 64.2% for instance.

Simple answer, just look for the "Watt" rating on your hairdryer. It will be a lot easier that way :-)

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

Okay, correction. 120 V is not current, it's AC Peak to Peak Potential (or Voltage); that's okay though I know what you meant.

First off, with AC power uses RMS wattage which in a nutshell is the potential times the square root of one half (0.7071 which is also the sine of 45 degrees) times the current flow. Thus 12.5 amperes of draw in AC is equivelent to roughly 1060 watts or 1.4 horse power.

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

The only thing produced by the hair dryer is heat. This device consumes power, not produce it.

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

mmm... the current must not be in Volts... but the power is 1500VA (or watts with DC) and if you're using AC, the power is 1500 VA = 1061 Watts.

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

P = V*I (watt)

do is baby!

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

This is as easy as Pie because the formula looks like PIE

P = I * E

Where P is the power measured in watts, I is the current measured in amperes, and E is the electromotive force measured in volts. Plug in the values:

P = 12.5 * 120 = 1500 Watts

Please answer soon: If A hair dryer uses 12.5 A of current when it is plugged into a 120 V current.....?

About RMS and power factor: 120 volts AC is the RMS, not peak-to-peak or even zero-to-peak, voltage. It is common practice to specify AC current as an RMS value as well (see ref.) The wattage in a resistive load, like the heater part of a hair dryer, does not have any phase angle. This load dominates the total dryer power. The relatively low-power blower motor does have a phase angle, so there is probably a small angle in the overall dryer power. The power drawn will be very close to 1500W.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

My step sister has just bathed the dog. Now she's drying her with a hair dryer. Is this safe? It's a human hairdryer.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

It is safe just don't use maximum heat setting and do not blow air in it's eyes or ears let them air dry. Also the dog could fear the noise so make sure to keep it calm and reward it afterwards. If it seems to started use a towl this is my method of choice.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

I dry both of my dogs with my hair dryer. As long as she does not burn the dogs skin, she is fine doing what she is doing.

I always keep my hand where the air is hitting to ensure that I do not burn my dogs skin with the heat.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

It's safe as long as it's not too hot. My dog hated it, so I just dried her with a towel.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

yes but as long as its not that hot.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

Blow drying and brushing your dog's hair: Blow drying a dog's hair is something that must be done very carefully because dogs are not able to handle the heat of a blow dryer very well. Using a dryer will decrease the amount of time you will need to spend towel drying your dog and in breeds that have curly hair it loosens the hair which forms a thick uniform layer which can then be cut with some scissors and will then allow you to sculpture it th

e way you desire. If the dog's coat is not properly prepared, cutting it will be more difficult and the results will probably not be the best. If you choose to use a dryer on the dog's coat, it might turn into a problem since you need both hands 閳?one to keep the dog in place and the other to use the brush. Professional dog groomers use special dryers that allow their hands to be free. Make sure to never put your dog too close to the dryer so as to not burn his hair. Brush the dog's hair while you are drying it with the brush or comb (depending on your breed).

As soon as your dog is done with his bath make sure to take as much water off of his coat with your hand by pressing hard on the sides of his head, tail and ears (make sure not to hurt the dog though!), followed by his sides, his stomach, his legs and paws from top to bottom. Finish off the job by drying him with a sponge towel or a normal towel completely. The dog will still be slightly wet after this but he should not be drenched in water by any means.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

yes...just be careful not burn the dogs skin

Should you hair dryer a dog?

i do my dogs with a hair dryer and the kennels i worked in used to use them to as long as you dont get it to hot will be fine, x

Should you hair dryer a dog?

Yes it is I do it to my dogs all the time and groomers do it all the time to..

Should you hair dryer a dog?

I do it all the time. Now, if the dog is scared and backs away, it's no longer a good thing. As long as you don't hold it too close or on one spot too long- It's just mechanically derived warm air, silly!

Should you hair dryer a dog?

Yeah, its fine. :]

Just dont let her put the dryer to close, it'll be hot hot hot.

We have small dogs, so we bathe them, towel dry them, let them walk around for a whle, and then brush them. It works, actually. x]

Should you hair dryer a dog?

I use a hair dryer for my pets all the time. Just don't hold it to close to their skin and don't blow it directly in their face.

Should you hair dryer a dog?

as long as you move the dryer around quickly so that it doesn't burn up the skin. Groomers use a similar product but it's more powerful, so yes it's safe.

Can a hair dryer electrocute you if the cord touches a few drops of water?

I know that if a hair dryer is submerged in water, it will electrocute you, but if just the cord part gets a little wet, is there any risk?

Can a hair dryer electrocute you if the cord touches a few drops of water?

When the cord itself becomes wet, it will not electrocute you.

With the risks:

1. if the cord has some openings, like rat bites, it sparks when it touches the water. worse if the two lines of wires have openings that get wet, your electricl connection will be shorted.

2. if that wre opening goes to water, and you are within the water's reach (continuous), that's when you get electrocuted.

Can a hair dryer electrocute you if the cord touches a few drops of water?

Electricity needs to flow through your body for you to be electrocuted.

Can a hair dryer electrocute you if the cord touches a few drops of water?

No, not unless the protective coating around the wire has come off, or is torn/broken

Can a hair dryer electrocute you if the cord touches a few drops of water?

no provided the live wire insulation is all right.if insulation is lost and the wires are peeping out ant and by chance ur wet hair comes in contact with ur drier u r prone to be electrocuted

Does Rowenta Lissima Hair Dryer work well on fine curly hair?

They always show models with lots of thick curls; my hair is curly/wavy, but fine. Irons are not for me: they damage my hair too much. I'm terrible with styling, so a regular hair dryer and a round brush are not for me, either. I like my hair straight though and I thought that Rowenta Lissima Hair Dryer that straightens hair while drying it might be the right thing. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Does Rowenta Lissima Hair Dryer work well on fine curly hair?

no no no

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

I am looking for a good dog hair dryer.

I usually dry them with a towel, but now that his hair is longer/thicker it takes a long time. (i have soft coated wheaten terriers)

I took him to a groomer once and they called me saying my dog is so terrified of the hair drier they asked if i mind bringing him home damp! (yah, i never went back there again)

Can anyone recommend a good product? A quiet hair dryer that is really good for long thick hair. Or even any tips on getting my dog used to the hair dryer

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

you will want a metro dryer. I would say a 4 horse power will do it. As everyone says, it will be loud, no way around that, unless you want to spend $1,000 on a Romani. start slowly, and don't over react yourself, if you dog is scared. If you act calm, chances are your dog will get over the fear of noises.

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

Dunno about a recommendation, but here's a bunch that you can compare:

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

Your dog is afraid of loud noises. Put a cotton ball in each ear to help with it. I used to do that all the time in my grooming shop. It is not the groomers fault, it is because you need to condition your dog to loud noises. A Wheaten needs to be groomed on a regular basis or the coat mats.

They are beautiful dogs but needs lots of maintainance .

The dryer that he needs to straighten his coat is a power dryer %26amp; they are very loud. No way to get around that. You can get a table top dryer for about $250, maybe a little more but it is one you can dry %26amp; brush at the same time to straighten the hair. Check out the dryer at www.jefferspet.com

I'd recommend getting him used to the noise. Let him check it out when it's off, have him in the same room when you turn it on. Let him see it's not going to eat anyone, turn it off and praise him for being brave enough to sniff it. Maybe even have some treats on hand when he overcomes his fears. Maybe in time, he'll come running every time he hears the hairdryer in hopes of treats.

Relating good things to scary things usually helps.

Good luck.

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

Before spending big bucks buying a dog dryer, condition your dog using your dryer on a low setting.First put it across the room from him then move it closer as he gets used to the noise, positive reinforce him for ignoring the noise.

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

Go to a pet salon that has the item you need and ask them where do they get them

I need a dog hair dryer! help?

i have an air force single speed and it works well. it's more than normal for dogs to be afraid of the noise as well as the blowing of their coat. start at the legs and slowly move up talking gently but when your dog starts to jump around be firm and say NO!!! but don't stop drying. he will get used to it in time.

Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1

I'm going to England, and got an adapter to use my hair straightener and dryer, but the adapter says it only accepts wattages up to 1600. But every hair dryer I've seen is 1875 watts. Do I need to buy an adapter for higher wattages or is it better to search for a dryer with a lower wattage (do they work as well?)?

Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?

It is about the same, but the higher wattage hair dryer should dry your hair faster, so get a higher wattage adapter, or buy a dryer there.

Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?

I honestly don't think you'll see much of a difference with a lower wattage hairdryer, but if you want to stick with the one you have, you do need to get a higher wattage adapter.

Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?

Just don't use the highest drying temperature and your wattage will stay below 1600.

You don't say where you are from but please be aware that the nominal supply voltage in the UK is 220volts. Hope you have a great trip ;)

If you use a hair dryer.. please help!?

okay, here's the thing.. whenever i take a showerrr, i let my hair dry and then i go to bed..

the next morning i just straighten my hair.. because the ends of my hair are all uneven and are kinda annoying when i let it down..

but i like the feeling of my hair whenever it's dry after i shower.. like it's dry but kind of damp.. i guess.. lol, and i dunno my hair has alot of life to it.. and i like that. but whenever i wake up in the morning.. it's just all, messed up. so i have to straighten it..

i don't have time to shower in the morning..

what do i do??

i was thinking maybe.. in the morning.. for before i go to school,

i could just wet my hair alittle. and then like use a hair dryer instead of a straighter.

but will this make my hair feel the same way as having my hair just let down and dried??

i guess this question should be answered by people who use hair dryers.. lol

If you use a hair dryer.. please help!?

I only use a hair dryer if I am in a hurry. I would suggest taking a shower earlier in the evening to give your hair more time to dry thoroughly before retiring for the evening. Also, I always wrap my hair in a towel for about an hour, because otherwise it drips all over. Try that and see if it works for you.

If you use a hair dryer.. please help!?

i dont think its the same but if u really like ur hair after a shower, just wake up like earlier then ur regular time

If you use a hair dryer.. please help!?

A hair dryer does not do the same thing as a straightener for most people. If anything it can cause frizziness.

If you use a hair dryer.. please help!?

It depends on how long your hair is, you can start with a good wrapping lotion that doesn't make your hair hard. Then make a off centered part and start wrapping your hair with a small tooth comb, start combing and smoothing the hair as much as possible going around your head in one direction. After you finish with that tie it down with a silk scarf or a wrap scarf you can find them in Wal-mart in the section with black hair products. I warn you this does take some patients but once you master it, the end results will be nice especially if you have 5 or 10 minutes to get under the dryer. The heat helps to straighten it out and remove excess water.

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

I burn myself using a blow-dryer and a brush. I try to straighten my hair that way, but it's just a poofy mess when I'm done, and not all my waves in my thick wavy hair are ironed out...and not all my thick wavy hair is dried either. I miss spots...a lot of spots. I've never personally used a straightener, and fear my lack of co-ordination will hurt me...but since the hair dryer isn't helping, I thought a straighter would do, so i don't have to use a comb simultaneously and still don't acheive straight hair. But I just heard about some new conair syling products..like their stylling dryer which has a comb attachment while u dry. Would that help? Or should I just get a straightenner? I'm tired of having partly straight, and partly wavy hair! I like 'em both, but I'd like fully straight hair when I want it! I'm an ill-co-ordinated novice. Help! Honest answers please! Thanx.

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

Con-air, that's the kind i use and my my hair can get pretty ugly at times i don't use it. I tried con air a couple of months ago and so far my results have been better than ever. I am also one of those people that usually miss spots, but not lately. You can find them at almost any store, and for a low price!

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

Its called Conair...USE IT!

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

If you get a straightening iron spend the extra money for a professional one, with ceramic or tourmaline plates. You'll be happy you did. And always use products that are made to protect your hair from damage from straightening. Both these steps will minimize the damage that straightening can cause.

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

CHI is the best.

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

Ooh you should get Ghd ceramic straighteners, they can be expensive but totally worth the money. They are much better than other straighteners. I don't know about this conair styling dryer thingy...It just sounds like a hassle to me. Ghd straighteners are the easiest and quickest way to sleek, shiny, lovely straight hair. Trust me - my friends have their own hairdressing business, they are making big money %26amp; it's the only straighteners they use... They heat up fast, and 10 minutes later it looks like you've just had your hair professionally done. I'm not good at doing my hair, and even I can use them!

What type of hair straightener/dryer should I use?

You need to buy Ionic blowdryer. Most new blow dryers are ionic. They dry inside out. Makes you hair soft and shiny. you can pick one up at Target or Walmart. But I straighten my hair. You should got to an asian salon and pay $120 and have great hair. Last half a year. After you see how they do it, you can buy yourself a box of hairstraighter and do it yourself. They sell it on ebay by Matrix.

Gfi on hair dryer keeps tripping?

have a gfi in breaker box feeding two bathroom non gfi recepticles. in main bath the hair dryers gfi keeps tripping, sometime even before you turn it on- after several trips the hair dryer won;t work. The 15 amp gfi in the breaker box never trips (unless I test it). I realize the breaker is somewhat undersized for the new dryers- but its the hair dryer gfi which trips. Also no problem with the other bathroom recepticle and I have replaced the recepticle in the main bath- problem continues.

Help I am stuck!

Gfi on hair dryer keeps tripping?

If I understand you correctly, the GFCI on the hair dryer CORD is the one that trips? If so, and plugging any other appliance or device into the GFCI outlet in the bathroom does not result in a trip, then your hair dryer is the problem. Considering the low cost of hair dryer (relatively) I suggest replacing the hair dryer.

If, however, the GFCI wall outlet is the one tripping when any appliance or device is plugged into it then there might be a problem with the GFCI outlet. If you have another GFCI Wall outlet try plugging the hair dryer into it. If it trips then the hair dryer is the problem, if not then were back to the bathroom GFCI outlet.

The back of the GFCI outlet should be labled (in small print) LINE and LOAD. The power supply from the breaker box goes to the LINE side and the LOAD continues to the othe outlet in the circuit. If it is wired incorrectly it will trip.

Wiring a GFCI outlet is easy, just remember to cut off the breaker first.

Gfi on hair dryer keeps tripping?

If it's the GFCI in the hair dryer cord toss it and get a new one. GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interrupter. In a correctly working circuit current flows from the hot side (black wire) through the appliance and then to ground through the neutral side (white wire). This means that in a correctly working circuit the current flow on the hot side and neutral side will be identical.

If the GFCI detects that the current flow is 4mA different from one side to the other it means that current is going ground somewhere other than where it is supposed to so it shuts the circuit off. It has nothing to do with how much load is on the circuit- if the circuit is working correctly but was overloaded the GFCI wouldn't trip- the breaker in the electrical panel would open.

If nothing else trips the GFCI in the breaker box the circuit is fine. Replace the hair dryer.

Gfi on hair dryer keeps tripping?

the air inlet screen must be dirty and not allowing enough of air to flow through the blow drier. this causes the hairdrier do draw more power and heat up the wires.

Gfi on hair dryer keeps tripping?

did you buy it at a bargain shop?

check if it has the UL sticker on it
